Giles Perring. Storm Eric. 2020
Here are a few comments from visitors to the show in Dunoon and on the Isle of Lewis:
"Hard to say which bits I loved the most - the poems, the films, the music, the photos...and Jura too!"
"Loved the exhibition ! It was strangely moving at times. The sound track was great and really added to the whole experience. Thank you."
"the audio really brings everything together."
"The exhibition was structured and executed amazingly. Very inspiring."
The starting point of Exposure was the showing of my 1986 film for Channel 4 Welcome to the Spiv Economy at the Barbican Cinema in September 2019, as part of a season to celebrate the workshop film movement. Giles Perring and Guy Evans created the soundtrack for the film. After its cinema showing, Giles and I started a series of conversations about doing another project together. It evolved into Exposure, which was created on the Scottish island that Giles lives on — the Isle of Jura on the west coast of Scotland.
